Today’s USA Today has a front page story on the growth of per capita incomes in the USA. The states with inflation adjusted incomes up more than 10% from 2000 to 2005 are all very rural: Wyoming (13.9%); Montana (13.0%); North Dakota (10.3%) and New Mexico (10.1%). The states with negative income growth were LA, GA, WA, MI, IL and NC.
Makes you wonder what is going on in rural America, doesn’t it?
