Another CA company is moving their headquarters to the Midwest. In March Festool, a German-based power tool manufacturer, announced that they were also moving their DC and national training center to Lebanon, IN. The company invented the hand-held orbital sander. It plans to add an assembly line and production facility as part of its longer term expansion plans.
Shortly after writing this blog, I was reading the Mooresville, NC Tribune and learned of Hybrid Technologies, Inc. moving their headquarters to that charming town which bills itself as “Race City USA” and has 49 NASCAR race teams that call it home.
This is the third CA company that I’ve learned of in the past three weeks that has announced plans to leave high cost CA for the Midwest and one to NC. I wonder if this isn’t a longer term trend that we are witnessing. What do you think?
